I do feel as if I am on a journey. A journey that started when I first typed spanking into a search engine and stumbled upon a wonderful circle of blogs. In that moment I realized that I was not alone in my interest, an interest that I have had all my life. I can't even begin to tell you how exciting it was to find such funny, smart, interesting people that share my, dare I say obsession? with spanking! It feels as if each day I discover more about who I am. Although I don't know where this road will take me, I am eager to continue my self-exploration :)

Just read your comment on Irelynn and Smudge's blog: "I wonder if I were to finally experience a spanking for myself if maybe the obsession will lessen".
This made me smile: I found it to be the exact opposite for me - my first real-life spanking experience convinced me beyond doubt that I'd found something that was core to my happiness and very existence.
I think it's true, too, for the young women I know in the spanking scene. If they've plucked up the courage to actually get themselves spanked, and found the right person to spank them, then they've probably already crossed the bridge between the vanilla and kinky worlds. The first real spanking is then more like a stamp in the passport, confirming that they've made the right decision to go on the journey.
That is a good point! I suppose I should just accept that I will always and forever be a completely kinky obsessed girl and to tell the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way :)

To back up Abel's comment, I just posted a relevant observation on my blog earlier this week. I have talked with hundreds of women (and some men too) who were eager to experience their first adult spanking. I cannot recall a single person who came back and said, "I tried it and being spanked just isn't for me." Not one.
Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. If you're a spanko, you're a spanko. Once they get settled in with a suitable partner, most people seem to find that the reality is richer than any fantasy.

I really appreciate your insight regarding fantasy vs. reality. It is reassuring to know that the actual event can be just as fulfilling as the dream.
